The world is full of people. Yes there are about 7 billion people in this world. And there is one wish which a majority of people dream about.
What is
it??!!
Any
guesses??!!
It is the desire to be unique, the desire to be different, the desire to be noticed.
Some people
only dream about it. Some people give up in the middle. Only the rarest of
people reach the pinnacle of uniqueness.
What does
it have to do with me??!!
Well, some
people are born different. These are the ones which termed as “Left-Handers”. I
am from amongst the 10% of world population.
Yes, these
are the people whose dominant side is the left one which is to say that they
prefer to do majority of the tasks with their left hand.
History is
replete with examples about how the world views people who are different. They are
looked down upon by others and always meet with some kind of resistance or the
other.
The same
goes for the so-called “Lefties” of the world.
The Latin
word for Left means “sinister” while for Right, it means “dexter” or skilful.
In social
behavioural patterns, passing or serving something with a left hand is
considered bad luck. They are
considered to be more inclined towards psychotic behaviour and getting angrier
easily.
Even
blessings are given with the right hand.
Left-handed
people are considered to be awkward with tools and other machinery (given that
they are designed for right handed use..!!)
However,
every cloud has a silver lining.
In spite of
all these, we have managed to carve a special place for ourselves in this
world.
Lefties are
known to be more creative and artistic in nature.
They have a
greater chance of being a genius ie higher IQs.
Lefties are
good at multitasking.
Some of the
famous left-handers in the world are:
Bill gates,
Barrack Obama, Amitabh Bachchan, Oprah Winfrey, Aristotle, Alexander the great,
Leonardo da Vinci, Marie Curie, etc.
I would
like to conclude saying that left handers and right handers are ultimately the
2 sides of the same coin.
Both unique
and both having their own pros and cons.
Always
value what God has gifted us. It’s not something to be ashamed of or something
to worry about. This is what makes us unique and if we value our gift then
greatness lies ahead of us, to be conquered by us.
So until
the next article,
Stay
blessed and be proud to be a LEFTIE..!!
